This was my first workshop in New York and I have to admit, I was a bit nervous putting it together because I didn't know anyone in the creative space in New York. That said, I was pleasantly surprised that I was absolutely wrong because it turns out that I have some great friends that I meet through social media.
Spencer Marc was the first to reach out to me and extend a helping hand by coordinating the local modeling call. Spencer was able to connect me with Derek Kendall an awesome male model who absolutely rocked the photo shoot in the cold NY weather. Spencer thank you so much for all your efforts with this workshop.
When I was selecting the location for this workshop I knew Dumbo Brooklyn, New York was a very popular tourist spot and there have been thousands if not millions of photos taken at this location every day by professional photographers and tourist. So my concern with this location was the possibility of recreating someone else's image. Before the workshop, I did extensive research in hopes to imprint most of the images taken in Dumbo Brooklyn and avoid those types images at all cost.
I want to thank Rashawn Jordan and Greg Supplice for supporting and attending this workshop. More importantly, they were willing to brave the cold NY weather for 4 hours. I also want to thank the two models who suffered the most because they had on less clothing than we did and they did not complain once about it. Derek Kendall and Serena Adams you both are awesome in my eyes and I hope to work with you both once again in the future.
If you would like to attend one of my workshops, please join our meetup group and check for the next available workshop. If you don't see any upcoming workshops just contact me directly and we put something on the calendar.
